ESOTU Alchemist Writs

Introduction

“My dear apprentice, you have destroyed far too many of my alchemical stocks to go unpunished. My own master would never abide such abject incompetence! Can’t take instruction,’ she’d say. ‘Nose in a book,’ she’d say. Luckily for your prospects, it is far less costly to write this simple manual than replace yet another cask of rare solvent.” — Alchemy For My Apprentice by You Know Who.

Why do Writs?

While a crafter does not require to become certified to be a master in their crafting profession, writs offer something to do on a daily basis and chance to earn some coin, reagents,  solvents, and possibly a survey map. The Masters only require the finished crafted products and do not care where they come from.  An efficient adventure who wants to benefit from writ rewards can buy the crafted items or craft the requested items in batches ahead of time.

Tip: Alchemy writs have a 4-day rotation which is the same order but starting writ varies from character to character. If your existing writ is the same as the current writs, you will not be offered the writ for the current day.

Certification

Within your starting town (Davon’s Watch, Auridon, and Daggerfall), there will be a master consumables crafting master (Danel Telleno) in the Mages’ Guild that will offer you the quest to become certified in Alchemy.  Certification unlocks the daily writs posted on the nearby writ board.  The quest consists of obtaining a list of reagents and a solvent then meeting him at the local alchemist. He will provide the location where you can find the ingredients needed to complete the training.
