“The Shattered Masque has fought far too many opponents who fail to realize the importance of proper footwear…If we’re to face in the Blessed Crucible, I want to fall because of my unmatched skill — not your pathetic boot stitching.” — A Clothier’s Primerby the Shattered Masque.
The Telvar Merchants allows PVP’ers and PVE’ers who have obtained Telvar Stones in the Imperial City a means to purchase various items.
The General Merchant stocks Consumables, Materials, and Miscellaneous Items. These include Xivkyn Polymorphs, Sigil of Imperial Retreat, Waxed Apothecary’s Parcels, crafting materials (cloth, metal, wood, runes, alliance style stones, and soul gems)
Since the release of OneTamriel, there have been a few posts on the official forums that discuss the competitiveness of the crafted sets versus all of the new zone and monster sets.
In reviewing these discussions, I’m most in agreement with STEVIL.
While developing thru levels, crafted sets now a filler rather than focus in no small part because of the drops being found scaling over and over…So crafted equip is not “done” or “useless” but it is now IMO less often the centerpiece and more often the extra.
The first Witches Festival introduced a crown store exclusive motif, The Grim Harlequin, for 2200 crowns and includes 54 crown mimic stones.
The cause of the issue relates to a shift introduced with OneTamriel that focuses crafting to individual characters. For example, harvesting is now determined by the harvester’s adventuring level and crafting passives. For harvesters-for-profit and mat-provided crafters who wish to continue to do so need f a variety of levels or crafting passives in order to stock up on mats of all tiers.
The issue with the new paradigm is that if you don’t have the exclusive motif, you will have to rely on someone else to use their crown mimic stones to create the item for you or deconstruct a item created with a crown mimic stone to obtain a sell-able style item used to create it. Overall, it seems poorly thought-out from an in-game economy perspective.
